Fashion Communication and Promotion in collaboration with Fred Perry
SUBCULTURE UNCOVERED
-
In my second year of university, I had the exciting opportunity to work with Fred Perry, on a brief that encouraged us to relook at Subculture. Our outcome had to take the form of a Zine; exploring the make-up of our chosen subculture and showcasing music, fashion, and aesthetic. This project was titled: Identity.
I was part of the team that organised our final exhibition to display our Zine collection. I put myself forward to be in charge of the graphics and branding subgroup. We had the exciting task of developing the logo and posters for the exhibition as well as curating the space.
We used creative techniques such as mono printing and collaging to generate a textured base for posters and flyers. Then, layered imagery from magazines to create eye-catching portraits. The finished imagery for the show was striking and atmospheric. Logo designs were submitted by group members then voted on, leading to an extremely collaborative team.
