COW Vintage Visual Merchandising
For this project I took part in a two-day workshop with prop design company; Lord Whitney. The brief was to create a short film taking inspiration from one word 'iron'. These films were judged and the group that won was given the opportunity to repurpose the props as a visual merchandising story the local vintage store; COW.
With a tiny budget of £10 we set out to explore the word 'Iron'. After copious amounts of brainstorming, we interapeted the word in its simplest form, as an element of the periodic table (Fe). We built on this idea and explored relationships between other elements, We took the word iron as a Taking into account that these props would be displayed in a window in the month of February, we decided to tell a love story as a nod to valentines day.
The winners would then be able to dress the windows of COW vintage for the month of February!
Our hard work paid off, after presenting our ideas we were named the winners. COW gave us a budget to transform our props from our short film into the visual merchandising theme for the month that includes valentines day.
The experience was challenging but rewarding. The importance of creativity and teamwork were key to our success during this short project. I loved having to create something out of pure fun and resourcefulness and am extremely grateful to Lord Whitney and COW for the valuable experience.
